Walkathon and health events at AAU on the World Diabetes Day
Al Ain University, Al Ain Campus, represented by the Deanship of Students Affairs, organized a walkathon on campus for the occasion of the World Diabetes Day, with the participation of Dr. Noor El Deen Atatreh, AAU Chancellor and Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, AAU President, and the AAU family. Where the walkathon started from the main gate of the University, passed the block of Female Students and ended at the administration building.
Dr. Atatreh, stressed on the keenness of Al Ain University to support such activities and cooperate with various institutions in the country, in order to participate and spread awareness among the community.
Prof. El Refae, praised the efforts exerted to organize this activity, which aims to combat diabetes, stressing the importance of exercise to protect the body from exposure to heart disease, stress and diabetes, and wished safety for all.
The walkathon was accompanied by a range of health activities provided by the Midcare Hospital, Al Jahli Health Center, City Pharmacy and Ceba Med Group, which aims to raise awareness and health education about diabetes and how to prevent and coexist with it, it including free examination for pressure, diabetes and nicotine, in addition to vaccination against the flu.
