World Pharmacists Day is an opportunity to enhance the role of students in society

Students of the College of Pharmacy at Al Ain University in its two campuses, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain celebrated the International Pharmacist Day, which falls on September 25th of each year, by distributing souvenirs to the university’s senior management, academic and administrative members, and students.

Dr. Noor El Deen Atatreh, AAU Chancellor, stressed the importance of the pharmacist's role in society, pointing out that Al Ain University is keen to provide the finest and latest standards of education at the College of Pharmacy to prepare highly qualified pharmacists, encouraging them to excel in scientific and practical terms.

Dr. Khairi Mustafa, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, valued the students’ initiative to enhance their role and celebrate their Day, stressing that the role of the pharmacists is not limited to selling medicine only, as some members of the community think, but is also responsible for securing medicine.

Prof. Mohammad Ghattas, Deputy Dean of the College of Pharmacy, encouraged the students to excel and achieve academic excellence with distinction to prove their competence as experienced pharmacists capable of entering the labor market and the health field.

Pharmacy students also contributed in spreading awareness about the importance of the pharmacist's role in society by distributing scientific posters and providing a detailed explanation about them to all members of the university community. With this initiative, they were able to present a positive image of the important role of the pharmacist in society and spread a positive atmosphere among the university family as well as the outside community.
