Al Ain University obtains “ABET” accreditation for the “Computer Engineering” program

The “Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering” program received international accreditation from (ABET) in the United States, while the “Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering” and “Bachelor of Science in Networks and Communication Engineering” programs have renewed their ABET accreditations.

Prof. Ghaleb El Refae (AAU President), stressed that, obtaining the accreditation comes because of the commitment of the College of Engineering to international academic standards, and it demonstrates the tireless efforts made by the academic members to achieve the desired goals of providing high-quality education to graduating outstanding and efficient engineers.

Dr. Nazih Khaddaj Mallat (Vice President for Accreditation and Quality Assurance), indicated that AAU is keen to renew the local and international accreditations for its programs periodically, and its continuous quest to obtain new accreditations, which enhances the university’s position and rank among the other universities.

In turn, Dr. Qutaiba Al-Thebyan (Dean of the College of Engineering), stressed on the college's keenness to provide the best educational programs for its students in line with the labor market, and to enhance the programs by obtaining international accreditations, which enhances their university degrees and ensures them access to suitable job opportunities.

It is noteworthy that AAU offers 6 bachelor's degree programs in the College of Engineering: Computer Engineering, Networks and Communication Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, and Civil Engineering.

Also, ABET is a non-governmental and non-profit organization (based in the United States) that accredits academic programs in "applied and natural sciences, computing, engineering, and engineering technology". With ABET accreditation, students, employers and the community can be confident that the accredited programs meet quality standards that produce graduates ready to enter the workforce.
