An Awareness Event Titled “Weight-Loss Injections: Between Hope and Caution”

The Deanship of Students' Affairs and the National Identity Club organized a public health event titled “Weight-Loss Injections: Between Hope and Caution”, marking the launch of a series of awareness campaigns targeting the Al Ain community.

The event opened with a rich panel discussion featuring Dr. Yasser Al-Saadaoui, Internal Medicine Specialist at Mediclinic Hospital, and Nutritionist Salama Al-Azzani from the same hospital, in the presence of students, faculty, and administrative staff.

Discussions highlighted the potential benefits of weight-loss injections in reducing weight, as well as the risks and complications associated with their misuse. The speakers stressed the importance of consulting specialized doctors before resorting to such treatments. They emphasized the role of proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle as either an alternative or a complement to medical treatment.

The interactive dialogue helped correct common misconceptions among attendees and underlined the importance of balancing medical awareness with evidence-based practice.

At the conclusion of the event, participants emphasized the need to sustain such initiatives to strengthen public health culture, while Al Ain University reaffirmed its commitment to offering further awareness programs and initiatives as part of its upcoming plans.
