Outstanding Participation by Civil Engineering Students in the Wooden Bridge Competition

The Civil Engineering students at Al Ain University achieved outstanding results at the “16th Annual Wooden Bridge Competition” hosted by the American University in Dubai; competing against 10 teams from various UAE universities. The students won all of the four awards in the competition as follows:

Two outstanding awards went to the Al Ain Campus Team — comprising Omar Al Khateeb, Ali Qassem, Mohammed Khalil, Saif Samer, and Salim Al Khalil, under the supervision of Prof. Mohammad Alhassan — who claimed 1st Place in Bridge Load Efficiency (Grand Prize; 5,000 AED) as well as 1st Place in Ultimate Load Prediction.

On the Abu Dhabi Campus side, Team 1 (Shahnaas Ismail and Zobia Ahamed), supervised by Dr. Layla Amaireh, took 1st Place in Aesthetic Design, while Team 2 — Ayoub Mohammad Abu Taah, Adil Al Zaidi, Mohammed Al Sharafi, Adam Hatem, and Mohammad Abu Lebdeh — claimed 2nd Place in Bridge Load Efficiency.

This achievement reflects the civil engineering students’ excellence in engineering design, innovation, and teamwork. It also highlights the quality of Al Ain University’s Civil Engineering program and the continuous support of Al Ain University toward its students on all levels.
