AAU Students got the First Place in Community Service Project in the IEEE Student Day

 

For the fifth consecutive year, Al Ain University, represented by the College of Engineering, participated in the 12th IEEE UAE Student Day, which was held in Khalifa University in the presence of Dr. Nazih Khaddaj Mallat (Dean - College of Engineering), some faculty members, participating students and attendees, a group of Deans, academicians and students from engineering colleges from different universities in UAE.

Al Ain University represented by the College of Engineering is keen on participating every year in this student day,  which is considered as a unique opportunity for students to share their knowledge and experience with students from other institutions, promotes a culture of competition among them and encourage them to be innovative, where the competition between the various educational institutions was for 24 awards in six different categories: Common Design, Engineering Design Project, Industrial Design Project, Software Engineering Project, Community Service Project and Senior Design Project (Electronics and Communications, Power and Control, Computing).

The College of Engineering obtained the 1st place in Community Service Project in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs, and the 3rd place in both categories: “Industrial Design Project” and “Software Engineering Project”.

Dr. Khaddaj Mallat expressed his pleasure that our students won these 3 prizes. He also stressed that the college and the university are proud of them and their efforts and praised the university’s efforts, to support all students and encouraged them to be innovative.

It is worth to mention that Al Ain University organized (in 2016) the 11th IEEE UAE Student Day in its campus at Mohammad Bin Zayed City – Abu Dhabi, which has seen great success.
