AAU Marks World Sight Day
The Deanship of Student Affairs, in collaboration with Johnson and Johnson Center and Yateem Optics, organized an open ophthalmology day at AAU campus in Abu Dhabi. During the event, the Center provided medical consultation and eye tests as well as providing advice to students, faculty, and staff. Awareness brochures were distributed, and the specialists made sure to answer questions and inquiries concerning eyes and sight.
Dr. Zuhriah Shana’a, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, mentioned that this event marks the World Sight Day and is also a main supporting event for the prevention of blindness and for "Vision 2020: The Right to Sight", a global effort to prevent blindness created by WHO and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.
