In Collaboration with the French Embassy – Abu Dhabi AAU Holds French Cultural DayThe College of Education at Al Ain University, in collaboration with the French Embassy and the Institut Français -  Abu Dhabi, launched the activities of the French Day at AAU – Al Ain Campus.  AAU President, Professor Ghaleb El Refae, and the Cooperation Attaché for French Language - Institut Français, Ms. Yannick Beauvais, attended the event.

For a whole day, presentations and cultural activities took place showcasing the French culture, language, history, and the customs of the people of France. One of the main accompanying activities was also a presentation on the key higher education institutions and universities in France in addition to a brief on the educational system, admission requirements to the institutes, etc.

Further, the activities of the French cultural day tackled bilateral cooperation and the distinguished strategic, economic, and educational ties between the UAE and France. The UAE gives special attention to the relations with France and is keen on maintaining balanced international relations.

Professor El Refae, AAU President, explained that ever since its establishment, AAU has aimed at becoming a pillar of education, knowledge, and culture in the UAE as well as the region. To that end, we have exerted all effort to connect and interact with the local as well as international communities hoping to play an active, distinguished role on the academic and cultural levels.

“At AAU, we realize that integration into the surrounding community and the outside world is a key indicator of an institution’s success. From this belief springs the French Day, which represents one of many initiatives the AAU has made to disseminate knowledge and promote cultural cooperation among students,” El Refae added.

On her part, Ms. Yannick Beauvais, the Cooperation Attaché for French Language - Institut Français, expressed her appreciation of AAU's hospitality. "On behalf of the French Embassy in the UAE and the Institut Français in Abu Dhabi, I would like thank AAU for their cooperation,” she added. Holding this event in Al Ain means a lot as it is a realization of our goal of taking cultural activities beyond the capital and to other cities. The activities held today are a showcase of culture, language, and educational opportunities mirroring the strong ties between the UAE and France. These ties are growing stronger every day on every level, and it is our responsibility to fuel them on the cultural level.
