An awareness lecture about Down Syndrome

On the occasion of the International Day of "Down Syndrome", The College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs organized an awareness lecture entitled; My Beauty is my Attribute”, presented by Dr. Samir Dukmak and Dr. Razan Al-Khatib, and moderated by Dr. Khawla Al Tkhayne.

The event discussed, why 21st March was chosen to be World Down Syndrome Day, and that’s because the child is born with an extra copy of their 21st chromosome. The causes, methods of diagnosis, and the characteristics of people with syndrome Down. In addition, tips that contribute to help and support children with the syndrome were provided.

Prof. Ibtehal Aburezeq, Vice President of Development and Follow-up and Dean of Student Affairs, emphasized the importance of joint cooperation between the Deanship and the College of Education in the context of community activities that are keen to meet the needs of students and society.
